A shadow is only a momentary image of a three-dimensional object. How far can the image of the shadow and its new identity stray from its original self?
The shadow cast is an image of the original Something, which, unlike an imprint, has no effect on the first Something. This opens the possibility for many new alter egos.
Risography prints on 150g/m² Munken Print paper, 297 x 420 mm.
By adding colour, paper and pressure to a medium such as a linoleum panel, a new Something is created. The creation of the new Something in turn leaves traces on the linocut, it has also changed. Two new alter egos have emerged.
These projects are part of my diploma thesis „Annäherung an ein Alter Ego“/“Approaching the Alter Ego”. 13 individual pieces of work all share the same principle, seeking to translate the essence of an alter ego into graphic design.
