A self-experiment in search of an alter ego. Will the addition of make-up, the evocation of an outward change, also evoke an inner change? As an image of the original, the photograph itself becomes the alter ego. A homage to Cindy Sherman's "Untitled Film Stills" and Andy Warhol's "Self Portrait in Drag".
In the digital world, it is possible to create an infinite number of new Somethings from one Something without changing the original Something. The Photoshop function "Fill area... content-aware" calculates new fill variants for selected areas of an image on the basis of the same image content and thus always creates new alter egos of the original image.
These projects are part of my diploma thesis „Annäherung an ein Alter Ego“ / “Approaching the Alter Ego”. 13 individual pieces of work all share the same principle, seeking to translate the essence of an alter ego into graphic design.
